8th Arkansas, and 1st Louisiana Regulars, - Lieutenant Colonel George F. Baucum.

This Brigade as the left of Liddell's Division advanced about 10:30 a.m. from the Alexander Bridge and Viniard Road to the assistance of Ector's and Wilson's Brigades of Walker's Division. The line struck the right of Scribner's and Starkweather's Brigades and drove them to the left and rear capturing the 1st Michigan and 4th Indiana Batteries. It struck the left of Croxton's Brigade on the summit of the next ridge north of Scribner's position. The Brigade then being taken in flank by the right of Croxton's Union Brigade advancing upon its left and rear and



threatened by the advance of Johnson's Division retired by the right flank and formed in rear of Cheatham's Division which was then moving into position.
