This is the home of Lodge No. 1 of Idaho's Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.
This Masonic Temple, built in 1865 is the oldest Masonic Temple in Idaho, and reputedly the Oldest Temple west of the Mississippi , still in use.
Although the building was destroyed by fire in 1865, Mr. James Pinney, a Mason himself, received permission to build this structure that same year.
This Masonic Temple is believed to be the only standing lodge which a "Grand Lodge" was formed in the United States, still in use today.
