To the east lies the burial site of Fuller Warren, Governor of Florida from 1949 to 1953. A World War II veteran, Governor Warren also served in the State House of Representatives. As Governor, he sponsored many important legislative initiatives such as Florida's Range Law and Reforestation Program. Among his many contributions to Florida's transportation system, he helped establish the Jacksonville Expressway System and the Sunshine Skyway.
