1919: The First Baptist Church of Pineville was built at 901 Main. The church has now expanded to include all of the west side of the block. During the 50's and 60's Gertrude Leatherman's Tiny Tot College Kindergarten was the educational hub for the five and under population. Pody Leatherman opened a filling station at the northwest corner in 1927 and operated it until the 60's. Between the church and the kindergarten was the home of Maxine and Kite Caudell. Mrs. Caudell taught piano for over three decades in her home and was founder of the Caudell Cup at Louisiana College. Husband Kite Caudell, coached for Louisiana College and was inducted as a charter member into the Louisiana College Hall of Fame. Other businesses on the block were Herbert Mount's Garage and Colvin Electric Company.
