Inscription
Under this tree the early settlers and Indians of the Choptank tribe conferred in the purchase of this section. An Indian princess is supposed to have negotiated this sale for which the red men received four guns , a few gunning coats and some ammunition. Near this tree an Indian trail led to the creek.
