Born, September 12, 1885, at Milwaukee Wisconsin. With the Chicago Cubs in 1910 and the Philadelphia Phillies from 1911 through 1920. Captain and stellar first-baseman of the 1915 National League Champions. He hit .438 against the Boston Red Sox in the World Series of 1915. Elected in 1957.
