This overlook sits high above the reservoir providing the visitor a panoramic view of the park. It was named for George E. Brimmer, attorney, philanthropist and staunch supporter of Wyoming's State Parks. Construction of this structure must have been perilous at times. Imagine the workmen bringing up massive sandstone blocks to the edge of the cliff.
The artist, E.S. Mosher, drew several different versions of the guard walls that would have provided both safety and aesthetic appeal for the point. Mosher also drew many of the architectural renderings in the early 1930's that now illustrate the interpretive signs throughout the park. An automobile was driven off Brimmer Point during the 1935 Water Carnival at "Lake Guernsey."
This event was repeated for years during celebrations at the park and is well remembered by "old timers" who attended as children.
