Formed Trebol Oil, 1940; As operating partner drilled 52 producing wells in McCamey region before hitting first dry hole. With partner acquired Odessa Gasoline plant, founded gas gathering system, drilled discovery wells in Upton County, brought petrochemical industry to Odessa. President of El Paso Products Co,. 1963-80; Organized employee buy-out in 1984 to avert closure. Founder of Texas Commerce Bank - Odessa, director of 7 other Texas financial institutions, rancher.
Visionary booster of cultural, economic development. Led community effort to establish U.T.P.B. Supported innumerable worthy causes, endowed scholarships.
