This congregation, originally
Ramapo Lutheran, was founded
by Palatine Germans on
June 14, 1715. For economic
reasons they had left the
Lower Rhine in Germany for
the mid-Hudson Valley, and
in 1713 about fifty finally
settled on the Ramapo Tract.
The congregation was
incorporated in Rockland
County on March 24, 1850
and the present church
built in 1855.
