This brigade reached this position at 8 P.M., and relieved the troops of Walthall's Brigade, and the 20th and 31st Alabama of Pettus'. Moore's and Clayton's Brigades with the 45th Alabama of Pettus' Brigade remained on this line until 2 A.M. of the 25th, when they withdrew covering the retreat of the Confederates from the mountain.
