A New Jersey man, Gordon joined
the Continental Cavalry serving in
the hard fought southern
campaign under Capt. William
Washington. He was wounded in
the ferocious Battle of Eureka
Springs. At war's end he settled
in Georgia. His great grand
daughter was Juliette Gordon Low,
founder of the Girl Scouts.
